New York City site Visit!
Feb 12th 2020
As you may have seen on the homepage in the last few weeks, Worlds Away will be opening a showroom at the D and D building in New York City! We are truly excited to have a permanent base there so that our customers will be able to view in person both our new introductions and standards that have been in the line for years. Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, there are many subtleties in the finishes and materials, and it is always best to see them first hand to understand the nuances.
Here are some photographs to show the progress of the new space. Currently there is no firm opening date, although it should be Spring 2020. You might not be able to tell from these process photos, but each day we get closer to an end of March (!?) soft opening. Just last week Neal Edwards, our Executive Creative Director, and Cristina Jabbour, our lead furniture designer, took a day trip to pick out final touches like paint colors and wallpaper and begin the layout process. The space is huge and will be full of Worlds Away furniture and accessories!
The building is open to the trade only, so pair up with an interior designer if you aren't one yourself, and see not only what we have to offer, but what the other over 130 showrooms (and 3,000 manufacturers) that have permanent homes in the D and D Building. For basic information and if you want to sign up for their mailing list to get news about their spring and fall markets, click here. We will send out an email with details shortly, and will post more here so be sure to check back soon or better yet, visit us there!
