Worlds Away employees were there to support King Bob Berry and enjoy presentations about other leaders in the field. Honorees included Creative Co-op, Fourteenth Colony Lighting, Graham's Lighting, McCartys Pottery, the Metal Museum, Skyros Designs, Kerns-Wilcheck, and Worlds Away, while special awards were presented to a few standouts.
The Chairman's Award was given to Greg Campbell and Erick New of Garden District, one of the most inventive and fabulous floral design studios in town.
The President's Award went to Jim Graham of Graham's Lighting; a true family business serving the area for decades and generations.
The King's Award was presented to Buzzy Hussey for her exquisite shop Babcock Gifts that has been a mainstay since 1972.
Finally, the Cook Halle Award recipient this year was John Simmons, a born entrepreneur whose career started with a 300 square foot gift shop in the back corner of a paint store to include opening and franchising upwards of 40 stores as well as using his knowledge as a consultant for other major businesses.
It was a successful event and reflected the hard work of Memphians to continue to better the area through supporting local business and charity all while having a good time.
